Is Garda vetting required to work with young people?
Yes. Anyone working with under-18s is vetted, and groups also run child safeguarding training before you start.
Do I need youth work experience?
No. You will be part of a leader team, and most groups pair new volunteers with experienced ones for the first while.
When do youth clubs meet?
Usually one evening a week during term, often with a break in summer. Camps and outings are extra and optional.
What age do I need to be?
Leader roles are for adults, and most groups ask for 18 or over. Some have separate young leader routes for teenagers.
