We're a volunteer support service operating county-wide, helping people find roles that suit their lives and helping local charities, community groups and projects find the volunteers they need. We're State-funded, independent and friendly to the bone.

We match volunteers to roles
Through real conversations — not algorithms — we connect people with the right charities, groups, and roles for them. We've matched 180+ Wexford people to roles in the last year alone.

We support charities & groups
We help local charities, community groups, and Tidy Towns committees write good role descriptions, navigate Garda Vetting, and run great volunteer programmes.
🌱
We grow Wexford's volunteering
We run training for volunteers, recognition events, sector workshops, and the National Volunteering Week celebration each year. We work with schools, libraries, and TUSLA.
OUR STORY
How we got here.
The Wexford Volunteer Centre opened in 2009 as one of a network of 21 county-wide volunteer centres around Ireland, supported by Pobal under the Department of Rural and Community Development. We started with one staff member and a borrowed laptop in a Wexford Town office. Within a year we'd matched 47 volunteers to local charities — and we've grown every year since.
Today we're a team of four supported by a volunteer board of seven directors, working with over 75 local charities and a network of 2,400+ registered volunteers across the county. Our work is funded by the State, supported by Wexford County Council, and enriched by the people of Wexford who give their time to the place where they live.

GOVERNANCE
Open and accountable.
As a registered Charity (CHY [number]) and a Company Limited by Guarantee, we publish all our governance documents, financials, and impact reports openly. We are signatories of the Charities Governance Code and report to the Charities Regulator, and we are independently audited each year.
