Most groups die because they get noisy. We'd rather have 200 active members than 800 quiet ones. Here's what the group is and isn't for.
What we share
Last-minute role openings (especially urgent ones)
Quick wins from your week — kept short
Notice of upcoming training & events
Practical questions other volunteers can help with
Storm warnings, road closures, things that affect get-togethers
What we don't
Long debates — take it to email or coffee
Personal information about clients or vulnerable people
Selling things or fundraising for non-Centre causes
Daily good-mornings, GIFs, chain messages
Anything you wouldn't say with John or Eva in the room
GROUND RULES
Five rules, all reasonable.

Confidentiality first
What's shared in role contexts (names, situations, addresses) does NOT come into the group. Ever.

Two messages a day, max
If you've already posted today, save it for tomorrow. Helps everyone stay subscribed.

Plain language only
If you wouldn't say it on the radio, don't say it here. We're a mixed group of all ages and backgrounds.

Disagree gently or take it offline
If you find yourself in a thread that's getting tense, message the other person directly. We're neighbours, not internet strangers.

Three strikes and we'll have a chat
Eva or John will message you privately first. We don't ban — we talk. But persistent rule-breaking does mean leaving the group.
